Helen Jones replaces Stephan Clark, who is now chief client officer.
“Helen has an impressive background, providing her with the skills and expertise to help NZ Funds navigate the issues and regulatory changes the industry is facing," said chief executive Michael Lang.
Jones worked for 12 years in New York for Societe Generale where she held a variety of positions including chief operating officer for Securitisation in the America’s, portfolio manager and credit risk manager.
Prior to that she was a lawyer in the Structured Finance team at Freshfields in London.
She joined NZ Funds from Westpac NZ where she worked on regulatory projects.
“I was excited by the prospect of working with NZ Funds. After many years working for large corporates, the chance to work in a privately-owned, innovative firm was too good an opportunity to turn down. Financial advice in New Zealand is emerging at a rapid pace. Ensuring it is provided in a client-centric way is a challenge that I’m very much looking forward to,” Jones said.
