Senior Jarden hires join the party
Jarden has welcomed five new senior appointments to the group as they invest further into providing leading services to their wealth and asset management clients.

Jarden has started the year with continued engagement with its wealth business’s focus on hiring high calibre people to support and lead the new phase of its business.
Malcom Jackson will be joining Jarden as group CFO with a clear mandate as to how Jarden achieves Trans-Tasman scale across wealth and asset management. Jackson joins Jarden most recently from TPG Capital where he was managing director and previously at Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities Group in London and Singapore.
Jennifer Gibbs joins as director in charge of advisory assurance in the wealth management team. Gibbs previously worked at Craigs where she was quality of advice manager. In this role she managed a team of six, led the development of online advice tools, monitored advice and portfolio quality standards, and provided ongoing training and support to advisers.
Chris Wilson takes the role of director in charge of portfolio strategy in the wealth management team. Wilson has been with ASB for 15 years across a variety of investment roles. Most of his time with ASB has been as an analyst, portfolio manager and subsequently investment strategy manager. Wilson will be assisting advisers design and manage portfolios, conduct ongoing analysis of client portfolios, deliver training and guidance on portfolio management and assist in the management of larger, more complex mandates.
The position of director in charge of operational excellence for the wealth management team will be filled by Julian Braithwaite. Braithwaite came across from Milford Asset Management where he is currently in a risk and compliance role. Prior to this he was strategy and projects manager at Craigs where he led the replacement of a legacy custody and KiwiSaver system.
Jarden says, "Julian will be working collaboratively with our advisers and digital team to develop systems, tools and processes that will drive efficiencies and deliver the highest standard of service to our clients."
Jeremy Ward joins as a director, in charge of global equities in wealth research. Ward returns to New Zealand after 13 years in the UK most recently as portfolio manager at Coutts & Co Asset Management where he oversaw a global portfolio of 80-100 investments with a particular focus on healthcare and technology. Prior to that Jeremy was a fund manager with the global asset manager Newton.
