After stints at Southern Cross and Sovereign, Carl Pheasant made the move to Generate three and a half years ago where he says "I thought I'd made it to 'expert' level at giving KiwiSaver advice to other financial advisers".
He's been at Threefold's headquarters in The B:Hive at Smales Farm in Takapuna for about a month now but has been in the industry for over 20 years.
"I thought it was time I got back to being a financial adviser," Pheasant says.
"I love giving advice on KiwiSaver and Threefold have many existing clients and what I find is just about anyone is more than happy to get some KiwiSaver advice.
"I'm passionate about telling people how it works and how to maximise their benefits, and if they considering changing providers I'm happy to do that too.
"I've developed a real focus on serving KiwiSaver customers and I'm also keen to talk to any advisers who have existing KiwiSaver books and need more information on their KiwiSaver advice."
He says the change of role is not so different to his previous position at Generate.
"Instead of explaining KiwiSaver to advisers, I'm explaining KiwiSaver to clients now.
"I have a great client base and have already brought on over 20 customers and a large pipeline for new business.
"There are also referrals coming in from other financial advisers I know and have good relationships with."
Pheasant says Threefold has a large client base and a holistic approach to the financial advice business. In the past, they have focussed mainly on life and general insurance, "and now they have me looking after their KiwiSaver needs".
It's not like he is new to Threefold as he has served them as an outside adviser, "but then they suggested I join them as a KiwiSaver specialist".
"We've had a great working relationship for years and I'm really happy to be on board with them."
With about nine advisers in total Pheasant says there's a really good culture at Threefold and they are "going great guns" and have working arrangements with Generate, Booster, NZ Funds and Milford.
