Michael Gray has been appointed to the role.
This is an interim position while AMP Capital continues to explore sale or partnership options for its Global Equities and Fixed Income (GEFI) business.
The change comes after sale discussions between AMP and Ares Management Corporation ground to a halt last week.
Gray is the founder of MJ Gray Consulting Limited.
Prior to establishing the consultancy business he has had an extensive career in the NZ and Australian funds management industry, most recently as senior portfolio manager with Caliber Investments from 2015 to 2020.
Gray commented, “I look forward to working with the AMP Capital team. I’ve admired their contribution to the New Zealand industry over the years, particularly in relation to responsible investing, and welcome the opportunity to utilise my experience and knowledge in the continued delivery of exceptional investment solutions for clients.”
