Craigs Investment Partners chairman Sir Ralph Norris says Simon Tong has been appointed as the company's new chief executive officer.

Tong was previously CEO of Paymark Ltd and Fairfax NZ Ltd and is currently ASB Bank’s Digital, Data and Brand executive general manager.

Sir Ralph says Tong has a strong background in technology and strategy and is highly regarded as a leader who has driven change, performance, and customer-centricity at the companies he has worked with.

"As Craigs embarks upon the next phase of its growth, the board determined that Simon’s track record and leadership attributes are those characteristics that fit our ambitious objectives," says Sir Ralph.

Craigs has approximately 600 employees and 173 investment advisers across 19 branches and around $25 billion of client funds under management.
