AIA has appointed Dame Paula Rebstock as an independent non-executive director.

She is a leading Auckland-based economist and company director with extensive professional experience in corporate and public services governance. Current positions include chair of Asia Pacific Healthcare Group, Kiwi Group Holdings, and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Māia; as deputy chair of Vector, and as a director of Sealink New Zealand.

She is also a former chair of the Commerce Commission, and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC); was a deputy chair of KiwiRail, and a director of Auckland Transport.

AIA chair Theresa Gattung says; “We are delighted to have someone of Dame Paula’s calibre join the AIA NZ Board. Her impressive breadth of experience at some of New Zealand’s most significant organisations will be of great value to AIA NZ and to our leadership team.”

AIA acting chief executive Sharron Botica said as New Zealand’s largest life insurer, having a strong, experienced, and diverse board to steer and lead the way is of critical importance as we pursue our dream for New Zealand to be one of the healthiest and best protected nations in the world.
