Andrew Ford is going to the finance and investment company, Jarden.
Ford has worked at Heartland in various capacities for around 10 years.
Before that, he worked for one of Heartland's antecedents, Marac Finance.
Ford joins Jarden as part of its wealth management team.
Jarden is one of New Zealand's best known sharebroking firms, and was founded in 1961 by the great All Black wing, the late Sir Ron Jarden.
It was heavily involved in economic restructuring and treaty settlements, starting in the 1980s. It later expanded into the Australian market.
Heartland is in the second rank of registered banks after the big four, along with companies like SBS Bank.
But it has moved to dominate the reverse mortgage business and is expanding in Australia.
