Pathfinder team mourns death of portfolio manager
Colleagues of Pathfinder portfolio manager Hamesh Sharma have paid tribute to their teammate following his sudden death.

A funeral for Hamesh Sharma was held last week. No further details of his passing have been made public.
In a statement, the KiwiSaver and investment fund manager said Hamesh was widely loved and his energy was uplifting.
Hamesh had led Pathfinder’s Trans-Tasman shares investment strategy since he joined the company in 2019. Prior to that, Hamesh was co-founder and Head of Research at Australasian Trading Management. He began his career with an internship at the RBNZ and had been an analyst in the investment strategy team at Goldman Sachs JBWere.
“His smart, articulate and passionate approach brought so much positivity to our team. Not to mention his laughter, humour and constant flow of ideas,” the Pathfinder statement reads.
“Our thoughts are with Hamesh’s family and many friends. This is a painful shock for everyone who knew him - Hamesh, you are deeply missed.”
Pathfinder co-founder and CEO, John Berry described Hamesh’s death as a tragedy for his family, friends and the team at Pathfinder and Alvarium.
“We miss his energy, laughter, high-fives, ideas and boundless enthusiasm,” said John Berry in a tribute post on LinkedIn.
