Plan B's new CEO

Plan B Wealth Management has appointed John Atkinson as its New Zealand chief executive.He was previously Head of Group Marketing at Plan B in Australia. Prior to that he held senior marketing and sales roles in the FMCG and telecommunications sectors in Europe and the Caribbean.
Atkinson will be based in Plan B's Auckland headquarters.
Within the past 12 months, Plan B has secured $220 million in funds under management and access to 1,000 clients in New Zealand. In September 2006, the company acquired Strategic Asset Management which has offices in Auckland, Tauranga and other provincial centres, together with Rutherford Rede (Northland) with offices in Whangarei.
In July this year, Plan B announced the establishment of a business alliance with accounting and advisory firm Polson Higgs Business Advisors, which has 120 staff in Dunedin and Christchurch servicing over 3,000 clients.
Alex Fowler, founder of Strategic Asset Management, retains a significant shareholding in Plan B New Zealand, and will continue to provide consulting services to the company.
