Sean Newman, the long-serving head of strategy at Tower, has resigned to take up a similar position at the private investment arm of the Todd family group.
Newman, who joined Tower in 1996 as economist, said after 13 years with the group it was time for a "change of scene".
"I'll be working with a team to manage money at the Todd group," Newman said.
He said Tower would replace his role with that of chief investment officer, with an executive search and advertising campaign already underway to fill that position.
Newman finishes up with Tower today - Friday, September 18.
