Morningstar re-locating its co-head of fund research Chris Douglas to New Zealand and has appointed Stuart Auld to his former role as head of sales.
Douglas will be re-locating to the Auckland office from 19 July where he will continue to jointly lead the qualitative research on Australian and New Zealand fund managers and their funds, including Morningstar's fund review process.
Morningstar says the relocation of Douglas to the New Zealand office will significantly increase the resources to research New Zealand managers and provide investment consulting services to New Zealand clients, continuing Morningstar's commitment to the New Zealand financial planning industry in this time of regulatory change.
Before joining Morningstar in 2006, Douglas worked as an analyst in the investment team at ASB Group Investments in Auckland, as an analyst in the performance team at AllianceBernstein in London, and as a fund manager assistant with F&C Asset Management's UK equities team.
Auld, as head of sales, will be in a role he has held previously which encompasses sales of all Morningstar products and services to fund managers, share brokers, and advisors.
Morningstar says Auld is a well known figure in the financial services industry, previously employed as head of sales for Russell Investment Group and as national distribution manager for TOWER Investments.
Morningstar says further expansion of the New Zealand team is expected as demand for Morningstar's services grow under the new legislation.
