Adviserlink appoints new GM

Education provider Adviserlink has appointed a new general manager following the departure of Colin James.
Former BNZ adviser David Cairns has recently returned from London to become Adviserlink's general manager. Cairns has had a career of more than 20 years as a practitioner, strategist and leader in financial services businesses.
He says there is an emerging debate about the standards of examination currently on offer. Adviserlink is committed to the closed book examination process as history has shown that this methodology delivers the best personal satisfaction, credibility and professional outcome.
Approaches that offer open book or potentially collaborative online answers deliver a quick fix but if the professional outcomes are in any doubt then the courts are full of successful claims by clients who can prove inadequate financial advice.
