In the new role Wong will be responsible for managing the overall asset allocation strategy, including the AXA Global Investors Dynamic Asset Allocation process.
He will also manage portfolio benchmarks and the AXA Global Themes Fund.
AXA Global Investors says Wong's wealth of experience in asset allocation strategies provides an ideal replacement for Keith Poore, who is departing to pursue other opportunities.
Wong's appointment completes the AXA Global Investors investment team configuration of 22 staff, headquartered in Wellington.
General manager of AXA Global Investors, Peter Verhaart, says the appointment of Jason is a coup for AXA.
"In the light of the current situation surrounding the potential acquisition of AXA Asia Pacific, I am thrilled with this appointment to our team," he says.
"We talk of ‘business as usual' in times like this, but I believe this demonstrates much more than that. It
shows that we are continually striving to provide the best funds management proposition regardless of any corporate activity."
