Brook Asset Management appoints new MD
Brook Asset Management has announced the appointment of Mark Ryland as its new managing director.
Thursday, October 13th 2011, 4:05PM
The appointment follows the decision of current managing director Mark Brighouse to pursue other opportunities outside the business.
Ryland will take up the role at the end of October when he will move from his current role with Macquarie Private Wealth New Zealand, where he has been chief operating officer for two years.
Executive director with Macquarie, Eric Schimpf, said Ryland had a breadth of experience in the funds management and financial services industries, gained across two international markets.
"Mark Ryland has been a highly valued member of the Macquarie Private Wealth New Zealand team for the past two years," Schimpf said.
"We see Brook as a solid business with a great deal of opportunity for future growth and we are confident that, with Mark at the helm, Brook can continue to move forward."
Brighouse will remain with Brook until the end of October to conduct a smooth handover and ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities to Ryland.
"I am delighted to be joining Brook and to have the opportunity to work with what I consider to be one of the most talented investment teams in the New Zealand industry," Ryland said.
"I'm looking forward to working with the team as they continue to focus on generating returns for Brook's clients."
