Lyn McMorran has been appointed as executive director of the Financial Services Federation (FSF) replacing Kirk Hope.
McMorran was most recently area manager central for Westpac's Private Bank and is the immediate past President of the Institute of Financial Advisers.
She has been involved in helping to develop and implement regulation of financial advisers to ensure the consumers of New Zealand have access to professional and personalized financial advice.
McMorran says she plans to continue the work of the Federation in providing the New Zealand economy with strong well run finance companies.
"The federation has an excellent history of professional advocacy," she says.
"The federation's development of Responsible Lending Guidelines for its members to adhere to particularly fits with my philosophy of informed consumers and a responsible financial services sector."
"There continues to be much work being done in the regulatory space directly affecting the way in which financial services are run in New Zealand. The FSF will be a key player in determining the way forward so that the New Zealand economy and consumers continue to be well served by its financial services sector."
She replaces Kirk Hope who is taking up the role of chief executive of the New Zealand Bankers' Association.
The Financial Services Federation represents 36 members including finance and leasing companies, and auto financiers. It promotes a healthy, competitive non-bank financial sector by providing a forum for members to interact and engage with government and private sector organisations on issues of importance to the sector.
