Paul Mersi, will join the board as an independent non-executive director. Mersi, who is currently Chair of Grow Wellington, spent 16 years as a Financial Services and Tax Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and was recently a member of the Government's Savings Working Group.
He will continue his involvement in savings industry policy issues and in consulting to industry bodies and organisations on governance, structure and strategy.
Brook Managing Director, Mark Ryland, said Mersi brings significant additional expertise to the board. “We have been focused on bringing additional independent experience to our board for some time.
“Paul’s vast industry knowledge, as well as his strategic thought process, innovative approach, and technical and corporate governance skills, will be valuable assets to the board as we look to grow the Brook business into the future.
“With the ongoing support of Macquarie and our ability to continue to operate independently, we believe we are well positioned and remain focused on our clients and delivering long term returns, while keeping a firm eye on our future development.”
Mersi will join Ryland, Andrew South, Brook’s Chief Investment Officer, and Bruce Terry, non-executive director, on the Brook board.
