Rourke has joined the Lifetime Group to help it grow its employee benefits business.
Lifetime is based in Christchurch and has advisers, mainly in the South Island, specialising in insurance and mortgages.
Rourke’s function will be to assist the Lifetime adviser in obtaining group scheme business from companies for their employee’s as well as obtaining business in his own right.
Rourke has more than 30 years of experience in the risk marketplace having been an adviser in the UK and holding senior roles in New Zealand with companie’s such as Sovereign, AIA, Club Life and most recently Accuro.
He believes that, “A company group scheme can be a low cost way for employers to encourage loyalty and increase productivity whilst for the employee it can provide cover for them and their family that may not be obtainable on an individual basis. It is a specialised area and there lies the opportunity.”
Lifetime chief executive Warren Stephens says providing additional services as in employee benefit schemesfits alongside its other offerings and helps the organisation grow.
Currently Lifetime is looking for a general manager and Stephens is moving into a role as chief executive specifically working on acquisitions and growth opportunities, particularly in the Auckland market.
