Barnes hands over chief executive role

Complectus group has appointed Grant Kemble as chief executive, assuming responsibility for day-to-day management from Andrew Barnes.

Monday, August 10th 2015, 3:23PM

The group includes Perpetual Guardian, Guardian Trust, Covenant Trustee Services and Foundation Corporate Trust.

Barnes will remain managing director and focus on large-scale business innovation, acquisition and philanthropy.

Kemble joins Complectus from Russell McVeagh, and is a non-executive director of airways New Zealand.

He said: “I have worked with Andrew and Complectus for some time. Andrew is an innovator and entrepreneur who has a clear and progressive vision for the fiduciary sector in New Zealand and is leading change of a kind we have not seen before. The opportunity to contribute to the realisation of his vision for service innovation and expansion – not only locally but on a global scale – was too good to pass up.”

Barnes said: “Grant’s years of experience in complex business transactions and advisory matters, as well as his governance background and long-standing relationships with regulators, make him the ideal person to lead Complectus into its next phase.”
