Cheryll Morales has been appointed to focus on providing investment operations and administration support for the Harbour equity and fixed income teams.
A Harbour spokesman said: "Advisers want good returns but they also want no surprises and no accidents. That comes with having the best systems, procedures, governance, division of duties, and operational expertise."
Morales has more than seven years' experience with global custodial banks covering fund management, investment and treasury operations, risk management and project management. She has spent two years at JP. Morgan Chase with a focus on cash forecasting, pooling and management, FX modelling and reconciliations.
Harbour said the appointment reflected the growth in its business and its continued focus on having the resources and systems in place to deliver best practice fund management services to clients.
The role is new and made necessary because of the increase in the number and complexity of transactions handled by the business.
Morales will be based in Wellington.
