Sarah Roberts has taken on the new role and will start straight away.
She is a sole legal practitioner, has more than 30 years experience in the commercial sector. She has advised many major institutions on a variety of acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and takeovers and is currently serving as a trustee for the University of Auckland Foundation. As former National Chair of legal firm Buddle Findlay and most recently Chair of the Public Trust, she has significant financial services and governance experience.
TEL chief executive Ryan Bessemer says the company is embarking on an enhanced focus on governance and technological capabilities across the organisation.
“Sarah has an impressive skill set along with her in-depth knowledge of law and the trustee market, and we believe her appointment will be of great value to the board as it guides TEL in its commitment to be at the forefront in providing robust supervisory and oversight functions.”
This enhanced governance focus is also reflected in a number of TEL’s recent executive appointments and internal restructuring as it responds to an ever-changing regulatory environment.
Roberts joins directors David Neidhart, Matthew Sale, and Mark Darrow on the board which is now strongly positioned to drive the Company’s next stage of growth.
