AMP Capital appoints new fixed income analyst
AMP Capital adds to its fixed interest team as demands come from growth and regulatory change.

AMP Capital has appointed Carrick Lucas to the role of fixed income analyst, where he will be supporting the New Zealand Fixed Income team in the active management of cash and fixed income portfolios.
This includes utilising tools to enhance portfolio construction and conducting analysis to help drive the team’s research capability and fixed income strategy, particularly across rates and higher grade credit to identify new investment opportunities.
Lucas joins from Kiwibank, where he was Portfolio and Liquidity Manager since 2014. Prior to that he spent three years as an interest rate strategist with ANZ, as well as other roles in New Zealand and overseas including the OECD, Alliance Bernstein and the RBNZ.
AMP Capital Head of Fixed Income Vicky Hyde-Smith said she is pleased such an experienced candidate is joining the New Zealand business.

AMP Capital has broadened the responsibilities of the Fixed Income Analyst role to provide an increased focus on the overall fixed income capability.
Hyde-Smith says: “A combination of regulatory changes and growth in assets, particularly from life insurance clients, has increased the demands on our fixed income team.
