From FMA to NZX
The Financial Markets Authority’s former director of compliance been appointed as a director of the NZX.

Elaine Campbell, also formerly general counsel of AMP, joins the board on February 18.
She is currently general counsel and company secretary of Chorus.
NZX Chair James Miller said: "Elaine brings to the board a deep understanding of NZX, the regulatory settings in New Zealand’s capital markets, and a passion for the critical role an exchange plays within the economy. Elaine comes with a big reputation and we are delighted to secure her appointment to the board.”
“Elaine understands NZX’s need to focus on our core business and operate it effectively, she is highly focused on delivering shareholder returns. Elaine’s deep legal capital markets experience will also be invaluable to implement the recommendations from Capital Markets 2029.”
Campbell said she welcomed the opportunity to return to NZX as an independent non-executive director. “And to be able to guide the shaping of New Zealand’s capital markets, which are vital to New Zealand’s economic growth and development.”
