Anna Schubert

Schubert has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry at Sovereign. During this time she has developed a vast and deep knowledge of the values of its Partnership Insurance Channels.

In a further move to strengthen and expand the reach of the team, senior appointments have been made across strategic account management and three regional managers have been selected.

“AIA NZ recently launched new products in the market – AIA Vitality and AIA Living – and with this we felt there was a need to expand our regional presence and empower our team to work with advisers in their region to help advisers grow their business,” says Sam Tremethick, AIA’s Chief Partnership Insurance Officer.

Schubert said that she was excited to be heading up the new team.

“I am looking forward to being able to focus my knowledge and abilities to work with advisers and assist them in growing their business and I am pleased to announce that Aaron Baker will be working alongside me as Strategic Accounts Manager“

“Aaron’s role is to work with the Strategic Accounts and support them as we transition into a FAP environment and adjust to the upcoming regulatory changes. Aaron has been in the insurance industry for 19 years, 10 of which were in an Adviser capacity so comes with a wealth of knowledge of the industry.

“Having run my own business, I understand the complexities, pain points and drivers behind the life of an Adviser, and have taken that knowledge base, enhanced it through experience to add value back to Advisers businesses, and our strategic partners,” says Aaron Baker.

The three Regional Business Development Manager appointments have been assigned roles in the North, Central and South Island.

Ben McQuay will be taking up the role as Regional Business Development Manager – North, which will cover the top of the North Island to New Plymouth. Ben joined AIA in 2012 and has worked extensively as a Senior Business Development Manager, recently working as AIA’s Acting National Sales Manager.

Marty Hickling has taken the role as Regional Business Development Manager – Central, which covers Gisborne to Wellington. Marty has 35 years’ experience in financial services having worked 11 of those at Sovereign before taking the role at AIA.

The South Island role was appointed to Michael Doherty who has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Previously to this role he was Senior Business Development Manager for Sovereign.
