Kiwi Wealth has confirmed Steffan Berridge has been permanently appointed to the chief investment officer, after holding it in an acting role since the end of last year.
Berridge leads the investment management team with overall responsibility for investment management processes and functions. He also heads the development of responsible investment for Kiwi Wealth.
Berridge earlier spent eight years with Kiwi Wealth, latterly as Head of Quantitative Strategy, and nine years in London at AHL, one of the world’s largest managed futures funds. Berridge has significant experience in portfolio construction and risk management as well as quantitative analysis and quantitative strategy, including developing, executing, and risk-managing rule-based strategies.
He also has a broad knowledge of global financial markets, from shares and bonds to futures, swaps, and options. He combines this knowledge with a pragmatic hands-on approach, bringing together technical analysis with fundamental market understanding and actual client requirements to create investment portfolios that are well-positioned to deliver superior returns over time.
Another significant appointment is that of Holly Marshall, who assumed the newly created role of Responsible Investment Strategist. She is accountable for the development and implementation of Kiwi Wealth’s Responsible Investment policies, process, and active ownership – from investment exclusions through to proxy voting, engagement, and wider collaboration on ESG issues.
Kiwi Wealth chief executive Rhiannon McKinnon says, “Our Investment Management Team is integral to our customers’ success and therefore the success of Kiwi Wealth. I am delighted that Steffan is at the helm and look forward to working closely with him to deliver on our purpose to enable Kiwi to have a brighter financial future.
“Holly brings her considerable talent and expertise to the team, which will benefit from her global perspective and experience in both the finance and fintech worlds. She is a well-regarded thought-leader in our industry on the issues surrounding responsible investment and what Kiwi Wealth is doing to advance the RI sector on behalf of Kiwi.”
