The programme is specifically designed for individuals who are working in the financial services industry and who want AFA status qualifications or specialist knowledge in insurance, personal risk, residential property lending, or investment.
There are new strands and a new focus to the qualification including a mortgage adviser module. Students enrolling in the whole qualification and wanting to be RFAs do not have to do the Financial Advice Module, previously known as Set Standards B and C).
Professional IQ College principal Lesley Southwick says that the College has developed user-friendly study guides and a programme of learning that supports online or a distance approach which is supported with individualised student contact from its Student Liaison Manager.
Southwick says, “an important function of the College is to keep abreast of legislation and this is reflected in all areas of our curriculum. The Financial Markets Authority and other industry associations are those with whom we have closest and most regular contact. This is reflected in the most up to date specialised study guides available for the NZ Certificate in Financial Services.”
While the NZ Certificates are primarily regulatory, completion of the programmes will allow any student to gain the NZ Certificate in Financial services Level 5.
While Professional IQ College is first to the market it is still waiting for the banks to approve the mortgage model
The College is offering incentives to enroll. It says advisers who enrol in the whole qualification get the most cost effective pricing.
Individual module options are available to enrol. People who enroll as personal risk (life and health) and mortgage adviser students get two months free membership to the PAA.
PAA membership Scholarship Students who enrol in the whole qualification in the Personal Risk (Life & Health) will be entitled to two months free membership if they are not already a member of the PAA. This will give you access to the PAA’s member benefits for the two months and ongoing should you choose to formalise your membership for the year.
